So you want to go on the internet just like everyone else.
Here are the pros and cons.

Pros

  • You can find what ever your heart desire's on line.

  • All the manufacturing companies have a web presence to get support online.

  • News, Traffic, Weather, Airline's, Restaurant's, Maps, Schools, Hospitals, Hotels, Police, Fire and the Government and way to much more than I can ever list in a week are easy access on the internet.

  • Shopping and lowest price finders for any product or service can be had at the clink of a button  (shopping.com)

  • The Internet is this generations contribution to the world second only to the wheel and might even over take it as the one most important thing to come down the pike in this century.

As you can tell this can be the best place on the planet to find or fix what ever ails you!

Cons

  • Time to get on line from start of process to finish could take weeks or a few days.

  • Is it even available in your area? (how do I check?)

  • How far am I from the CO? (Central Office) (How do I check this?)

  • Distance at this point in matters (must be less than 20,000 feet from CO) (where in the blue blazes is this CO)

  • How you connect to the Internet is key for speed (Dialup, Cable or DSL) The truth no hype

  • Security is unbelievably lacking out of the box from Microsoft to the ISP providers. (Internet Service Provider)

  • Problems that the ISP should address (Security, Spyware, Virus activity)
